This process is very similar to the LMC technique as above but is normally used in commercial situations with short pile carpets (or carpet tiles) where following the usual thorough vacuuming the carpet is sprayed with the “encapsulation” solution which, in turn is agitated into the carpet with the rotary brush.  This is then left to dry – it evaporates fairly quickly – and the soiling is then removed by vacuuming.  The solution works by acting as a sort of magnet to the soiling and draws the soiling from the fabric and encapsulates it!  The secondary benefit of this method is that the solution comes with a built in stain protection to resist further soiling.
